Travelers Split on How Much They Trust AI Trip Planning
A new Global Rescue Traveler Sentiment and Safety Survey finds that only 36% of travelers expect to use AI in some way for trip planning in 2026, while an equal 36% say they will not use AI at all and 25% say they will rely mostly on human recommendations.
The survey highlights that most travelers see AI as useful for inspiration and shortlisting, but still want human judgment and independent verification for final decisions.
Impact on Travel & Hospitality
Expect hybrid journeys where AI handles ideation and curation while human advisors, agents, and frontline staff remain decisive for trust, complex trips, and high-value guests.
