AI in Hospitality Seen as Transformative by Operators, with Budgets Shifting Accordingly
Source: EHL / Canary Technologies study
A recent study of 327 hospitality professionals reports that more than 73 percent expect AI to have significant sector-wide impact, with over 80 percent seeing particular value in pre-booking interactions and guest communication.
Larger hotels are already redirecting IT spend toward AI, with two-thirds of properties over 150 rooms allocating at least 10 percent of their IT budgets to AI tools, and a quarter of 500+ room properties dedicating more than half their IT spend to AI solutions.
The report highlights applications like multilingual chatbots, automated check-in, and preference-based recommendations as near-term value drivers.
Impact on Travel & Hospitality
Capital allocation is catching up with AI ambition, signaling that brands which delay AI adoption risk falling behind peers that are actively investing in guest communication, automation, and data infrastructure.
