Amazon has added a new AI feature called Ask This Book to the Kindle app on iOS in the United States, letting readers ask questions about the book they are currently reading and get answers based only on the pages they have already reached. The tool can explain characters, plot points, themes, or confusing sections without revealing spoilers, and it can be accessed through the reading menu or by highlighting text. Users can type their own questions or choose from suggested prompts, but the responses cannot be copied or shared. The feature works only with books you own or have borrowed through Kindle and currently supports thousands of English language titles. For now it is limited to iOS, with plans to expand to Kindle devices and Android in the future, and authors and publishers cannot opt out of having their books included.
