Google announced that its Gemini AI assistant is replacing Google Assistant on the Google TV Streamer, marking a shift toward more conversational voice interactions. The rollout begins for users aged 18 and older and will continue over the next few weeks. Gemini enables natural language queries for entertainment, such as movie recommendations or show recaps, and can also answer educational or general questions, integrate YouTube videos, and assist with DIY projects or recipes. The update follows Google’s earlier introduction of Gemini on select TCL and Hisense TVs and its availability on Walmart’s Onn 4K Pro device. The move aligns with Google’s broader plan to replace Assistant with Gemini across all platforms.
