Hospitality Leaders Reallocate IT Budgets Toward AI Tools at Scale
An EHL-backed study of 327 hospitality professionals finds over 73 percent believe AI will have significant sector-wide impact, with large properties already directing meaningful chunks of IT spend into AI platforms.
Two-thirds of hotels with more than 150 rooms dedicate at least 10 percent of their IT budgets to AI tools, and a quarter of 500-plus-room properties allocate over half of IT spend to AI solutions. Investments concentrate on:
- Guest messaging
- Automated check-in
- Room assignment
- Multilingual assistants that compress labor needs while sustaining personalization
Impact on Travel & Hospitality
Competitive sets are beginning to out-invest laggards on AI infrastructure, so owners should treat AI as a core capital line item alongside PMS and revenue management — not as experimental OpEx.
